I painted this from a photo I took before Cape Hatteras (NC) Lighthouse was moved to its new location.  It's painted with transparent watercolors on 140 lb cold press paper.  Hope you love lighthouses as much as I do.

Smoky Blue Summer

 

Original watercolor painted from photograph taken near the Applachian Trail.  This painting finishes out the four seasons of my 'Smoky Blue' series.  The old, weathered fence leads your eye to the rhododendren, the pine tree, and on to the majestic beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.  Original is matted and framed in a 16x20 weathered wood frame, which compliments the fence.  Limited-eiditon giclee (museum quality) signed and numbered matted prints are available in 16x20 also.  Artist: Judy Cook

This is a 'commissioned' painting of an old smokehouse behind a client's grandparent's home.  Both grandparents had passed away,and the smokehouse was going to be torn down.  She wanted to capture the memory, and gift it to her Dad for Christmas.  She gave me permission to have limited-edition giclee prints made of the painting.

In Memory

This painting is 'In Memory' of my Dad, who was a dairy farmer, and in honor of those who still carry on the tradition and hard work of farming.  Milk cans may have been replaced by refrigerated, stainless cooling tanks, but we remember the cans as a symbol of integrity, determination, perserverance and true grit in providing America the basics for healthy living.
